Lek Ladki Yojana was launched by the state government of Maharashtra in 2023. This is a completely financial welfare scheme started by the Maharashtra government to provide financial assistance of Rs 101000 to the girls of financially weak families. The monetary support will be given in five installments, from birth until the girl reaches the age of 18. The girl will get 5000 at the time of birth, then the second installment of 6000 will be given when the girl is admitted to class 1, then the third installment of 7000 will be given when the girl is admitted to class 6, then the fourth installment of 8000 will be given when the girl attends class 11, and then the fifth installment of 75,000 will be given when the girl is 18 years old.
The scheme was announced by the finance minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis. This scheme was launched under the Department of Women and Child Development. The main purpose of the scheme is to empower girls, increase the birth rate of girls, prevent child marriage, and prevent girls from dropping out of school due to weak financial circumstances. Lek Ladki Yojana is a welfare initiative taken by the Maharashtra government to provide financial aid to the girls of poor families. Under this scheme, financial support of Rs 101000 is given to the girl of a financially poor family. The money is given in five installments from birth until the girl’s age of 18. - In order to apply for the Lek Ladki Yojana, you have to collect the application from the Anganwadi Center, District Program Officer, District Council, District Women and Child Development Officer, Rural and Urban Child Development Officer, or Divisional Deputy Commissioner for Women and Child Development. - Then attach the requested documents and application form.
- Then, at last, submit the application form and requested documents at your nearest Anganwadi center to the Anganwadi Assistant or Chief Assistant in the Anganwadi office.
